SupBiotech

The Diploma

International equivalent diploma issued by Sup'Biotech

Internationally recognized courses (LMD)

The program offered by Supbiotech has been constructed around the model put in place by the reform in third level education (LMD) which enables an international harmonization of diplomas and therefore gives a greater visibility in relation to other diplomas obtained.

  • Bachelor Cycle : 3 years (equivalent to a bac + 3 at the end of cycle)
  • Expertise Cycle : 2 years (equivalent to a bac + 5 at the end of cycle)

English is at the centre of Supbiotech program from the beginning of the degree course and acquires a lot more importance upon reaching biotech 3. The obtaining of the Toeic with a minimum of 750 points conditions the passage into the expertise cycle where all classes are taught in English. The insertion into the professional world requires a very high level in English; therefore Supbiotech is enabling its students to have an international career. Student have the possibility to study other languages while at Supbiotech like Chinese or Japanese.

The International aspect of the school is very important for Supbiotech and this can be seen by the fact that our fourth year students will spend a semester abroad as and from the academic year 2012/2013. To work in the domain of biotechnology one needs to be open to the world and Supbiotech delivers this possibility to students. Although we are a school based in the Parisian region in France we have a strong focus on English and mobility towards an international career.

All these characteristics merge to give an international education to students of Sup'Biotech :

  • Cursus harmonised Internationally (LMD)
  • Internships abroad
  • Intensive English language teaching (classes, linguistic break, Internships abroad)
  • Partnerships with other schools and Universities around the world

Supbiotech has signed a number of different partnership agreements with Universities around the world. You can find below some examples of schools we have agreements with.

I am a researcher with the CNRS and run a lab at Université Paris VI. I have had the pleasure to host several Sup'Biotech students in my group and the interactions have been entirely positive. I find the students are motivated, have disciplined work habits, and have had a sound preparation in fundamental laboratory principles from the school so that they are easy to teach and learn rapidly on the job. They are well organized and keep good laboratory notebooks, furthermore they have a good knowledge of English, which is important in my international team. Currently, 3d year students from Sup'Biotech are running my entire baculovirus protein production operation and thereby providing valuable technical support to my group. I will certainly continue to take your students in the future, thank you Sup'Biotech !

Amelie was doing an internship of 4 months in our institute in the department of protein biochemistry. Her work was focused on the study of mammalian protein glycosylation. The work covered a wide range of activities, from the transfection, expression and purification of various proteins in different cell lines up to the analysis and partial characterization of the glycosylation patterns. Amelie was very enthusiastic and showed a great interest and commitment to her work. She suggested and performed additional experiments to expand her study. The results she produced during her brief internship will be the basis for a publication we are now working on, where Amelie of course will be a co-author. In addition to her excellent work, she has a very pleasant personality and it was a real pleasure to work with her.
