Engineering programme
The engineering programme
The engineering programme lasts three years enabling any future trainee engineers to achieve the required cultural dimension for an engineer in Biotechnology from the SupBiotech Institute.
The training can be followed through the initial route (traditional cycle) or through the learning route.
Periods of professional experience in a company alternate with periods of reinforcement of targeted skills. The whole philosophy is based on acquiring trainee engineer expertise: everything is organized in such a way that the student acquires the ability to master the necessary skills to successfully become part of the professional market of Biotechnology.
Biotech 3, or the first year of the engineering programme, is a crucial year in this transformation. The student sees an across-the-board integration of his skills in relation to applied scientific topics. He can even anticipate certain concepts to be able to debate with his lecturers within an innovative, inverse education situation.
Biotech 4 and 5 (second and third years of the engineering programme respectively) enable these same students to assert themselves in a professional capacity drawing on in-depth professional experience (2 internships or courses alternating work and study), but also on a personalized learning path. In order to personalize the study programme and to reinforce each student’s specific skills, the engineering programme offers two privileged methods. The student can choose to pursue a Major which is more metier-based or a Minor in the professional sector.
SupBiotech educational methods are pragmatic, ambitious and modern. They focus on values that I hold dear: openness, mutual respect and responsibility. I love teaching at SupBiotech because the students are young, ambitious, and hard-working, and always friendly. The management team are genuinely mindful of their students as well as their teachers, open to ideas and suggestions. I felt at home from the beginning.

Organisation of the engineering curriculum in Biotechnology at SupBiotech
The engineering curriculum in Biotechnology is based on the European standard of transfer and accumulation of credits (European model LMD – Bachelor’s/Master’s/Doctorate). Points are allocated to study programmes based on a student’s work load.
One school year represents 60 ECTS credits. One credit represents a certain volume of student work (25 to 30 hours). Credits can only be obtained on the successful completion of exams. The Paris Higher Institute of Biotechnology (SupBiotech) is authorized to award the title of engineer, recognized by the State.
